Access Keys - Skip to content

Access keys are keyboard shortcuts intended to help users who have difficulties with pointing devices, such as a mouse. By using access keys you can jump to specific areas of a website.

Within this site we have provided a skip to content and skip to navigation.

  • Alt + c - Skip to content
  • Alt + n - Skip to navigation

How to use access keys:

Different browsers require slightly different key combinations to use an access key:

FireFox 1.0.4+ (PC)
Hold down the ALT key and press the number or letter of the access key.

FireFox 1.0.4+ (Mac)
Hold down the OPTION key and press the number or letter of the access key.

Internet Explorer 5+ (PC)
Hold down the ALT key, press the number or letter of the access key, release both keys then press ENTER.

Opera 8.0+ (PC & Mac)
Press Shift, Escape and then the number or letter of the access key.

Access keys are supported by the following web browsers:

  • FireFox 0.8+ (PC and Mac)
  • Internet Explorer 4+ (Windows), 5+ (Mac)
  • Opera 7 (Windows and Linux)

PC
Internet Explorer: Go to “View” in your browser, then click “Text Size” and select the size you require from the drop down list.

Firefox: Go to “View” in your browser toolbar, then choose “Text Size” “Increase/Decrease”.

Mac
Firefox: Go to “View” in your browser toolbar, then choose “Text Size” “Increase/Decrease”.
