More good news as Casino bid is ahead of the rest

EAST Lindsey has received more support for a small casino from the Casino Advisory Panel, working on behalf of the Government, to review potential casino sites.

East Lindsey District Council’s application to licence a small casino was placed well ahead of other applicants, for a small casino, with the Council scoring well on community benefits, regeneration potential and commitment to deliver.

With eight small casino licences up for grabs, the District Council’s Chief Executive, Nigel Howells, said that East Lindsey has a great chance: "Today’s news re-enforces the Council’s commitment to developing an all year round tourism economy, which will work to increase employment opportunities to benefit our residents, as well as bringing much needed investment to our coastal resorts."

"We worked with our partners at Lincolnshire County Council as well as the local community and businesses to ensure we put forward a worthy bid to the Casino Advisory Panel and our efforts have been recognised," he said.

The Government is due to make the final announcement about those areas that will receive a casino licence in December.
